Costs
Professional driving abilities are becoming increasingly important in a society which places a lot of importance on transportation for economic growth as well as for the movement of goods and people. But acquiring this skill isn't inexpensive. You must consider a variety of costs, such as the cost for training and the exam. In the Netherlands the cost for obtaining Code 95 can be as high as 3000 euros. The cost of getting this certificate in Poland can be as low at 1500-2000 PLN.
In Europe, truck drivers must possess the Code 95 Certificate to drive trucks that weigh more than 7.5 tonnes. The certificate is valid for five years and must be added to the driver's license category C or C+E. It is also possible to add it to C1 or C1E licences which permits the driver to drive trailers with lighter weights.
You must be able to pass a psychological test as well as medical exam to be eligible for an Code 95 Certificate. After you have completed the course, you will be issued an official plastic Code 95 Certificate that can be inserted in your driving license. Options for training
Code 95 is a proof on your driving license that you have met the requirements for training to drive buses and trucks professionally. This is a condition you must meet every five years to renew your permit. The 35-hour periodical training can be completed at a driving academy or at home via the internet-based learning. The course can be divided over five years. The course is usually paid for by your employer.
Code 95 training is divided into two types: short and long courses. The long course lasts for about four weeks and ends with a governmental test. After passing the test you will receive a plastic card. The card must be submitted to the database of unified European certificates. The institution where you attended will then submit the card to the database. The card will be processed in 14 days.
The cost of the course is around 2500 PLN, while the exam costs 300 PLN. You'll have to pay an additional fee to the school in order for them to submit your certificate to the unified European database. Once the card is ready you can pick it up from the school.
As trainers you must adhere to a set of protocols to be able give a class that meets Code 95. First, you must submit a training program to the CBR. The training plan must be approved before the beginning of classes. You will also need to adhere to other strict guidelines during the training.
If you successfully completed the training, you will be awarded a certificate of ongoing training from the CBR. The certificate can be mailed to the RDW. After submitting the form successfully you'll be able renew your license with the municipality. If you don't renew your license by the expiry date, you will not be able to drive professionally more than 12 hours a week. Exams
In order to obtain the code 95 indication on your licence you must pass both the theoretical and practical exams. These tests can be completed in conjunction with the acquisition of a basic category license at an driving school. If you pass the test, you'll be awarded a certificate as well as a code 95 card. The card is valid for five years and must be renewed before the expiration date.
You can select a short or a long course for the code 95 examination depending on the course of study. To operate a truck you need a driver's licence C. This is the most extensive driver's licence in Europe. In the Netherlands, the requirement is that you pass the initial qualification for professional drivers at the Central Office for Motor Vehicle Driver Testing (Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen, or CBR, in Dutch). You also must pass a medical exam.
For passenger vehicles and buses you must also have a driving license C or D. The requirements for bus drivers differ than those for trucks, as they need to pass a written test as well as an oral test. In addition, they need to be able to show a code 85 which is a document that proves their professionalism.
Requirements
