MP backs biodiesel tax break campaign

MP Andrew George is backing a project to keep tax breaks for companies who produce biodiesel.
Producers transforming cooking oil into biodiesel currently benefit from a 20p differential however that is because of end next April.
The St Ives MP, who leads the Lib Dem Environment Team, has actually been consulting with the UK sustainable biodiesel alliance.
Mr George stated "a variety of little services in Cornwall currently earn money from used cooking oil".
He added: "In order to be able to get this kind of industry going it does need just a little bit of lift which can be found in the type of tax foregone."
Biodiesel is a blend of conventional diesel, rapeseed and vegetable oils.
